Indiana's Leading Sheet Metal Contractor
Company Profile

Bright Sheet Metal Company is a full service HVAC contractor specializing in sheet metal ductwork and metal fabrications. We were founded in the mid-1950's to manufacture and install ductwork systems. Our facility is equipped with the finest manufacturing equipment available, providing our clients with the best value of production and quality. Our manufacturing equipment includes certain key pieces of equipment vital in an HVAC project and allows Bright Sheet Metal to produce and control schedules in lieu of relying on outside sources.

Bright Sheet Metal is aware of the customer's concerns regarding the potential impact of reducing costs at the expense of quality.  Bright Sheet Metal will not simply reduce costs and sacrifice quality.  Our quality is one of the attributes that the customer purchases when using Bright Sheet Metal.

Drawings are reviewed for cost-saving alternatives that can provide the customer with a job of equal quality for a reduction of cost.  As the project evolves, our detailing department is conscious of methods that can be used to reduce costs without impacting quality.

Some examples of substantial cost savings used for customers are listed below:

1.  Conversion of rectangular ductwork to spiral pipe.  Since Bright Sheet Metal owns the equipment to manufacture spiral pipe, small 5' rectangular duct lengths can         be converted to 20' lengths of spiral pipe, providing higher quality at a reduced price.

2.  Reduce the ductwork construction standard to actual static pressure of the system.  This will reduce the overall poundage of galvanized steel and reinforcing.  We         can provide static pressure panels set for negative or positive pressure to avoid any duct damage due to a system malfunction.

3.  A thorough review of alternate equipment.
4.  Alternate methods of duct construction
       a.  Spiral pipe vs. welded duct systems
       b.  Coated spiral pipe vs. 316 stainless steel
       c.  PVC-coated spiral pipe vs. galvanized pipe

Bright Sheet Metal can quickly review the above alternatives without the use of outside vendors.  We have the owner in mind from the bidding process to the completion of the project.  We can maximize the savings to the owner during the design stages.  These cost savings concepts can be incorporated into the design, thereby minimizing any duplication of design and detailing efforts.

Bright Sheet Metal strives to provide the end-user with the most value for each sheet metal dollar spent.  By allowing the cost control, and value-engineering process to continue through design, our ability to meet this goal is maximized.

Bright Sheet Metal has two fabrication facilities in Indianapolis totaling 140,000 square feet, as well as a third facility in Lafayette, Indiana.  Bright Sheet Metal prides itself on giving its employees the tools to do their job safely, and efficiently.  Our investment in our shop facilities and manufacturing equipment allows our employees to perform quality work in a timely manner utilizing the latest technology to better serve the customer.  Whatever the fabrication needs of your project happens to be, we are equipped to handle the task.

Bright Sheet Metal and subsidiaries have 370 sheet metal employees and 12 air balance employees on staff.  With our pool of labor, Bright Sheet Metal has the flexibility to add or reduce manpower on a given project as needed all within the confines of our company.

Bright Sheet Metal maintains a dedicated, pro-active approach to the safety of our employees.  Bright Sheet Metal is an active participant in MICCS and IUCSAT.

Every accident and incident is reviewed to determine what steps can be taken to maximize safety.  For example, Bright Sheet Metal noticed a trend in the number of cuts above the wrist from loading and handling of spiral pipe.  Following our review with the injured persons, it was determined a glove with a longer wrist cuff would eliminate these accidents.  These gloves are now mandatory at Bright Sheet Metal.

Weekly safety toolbox talks are required at Bright Sheet Metal.  Each project foreman must document the topic and attendance.  Safety training is an ongoing part of Bright Sheet Metal Safety Program from new hire orientation to the OSHA 30 hour course.  Bright Sheet Metal has on-staff trainers to assure training is available on an as needed basis.
